I’ve always been from Goiânia. That’s not new.
But if you just got here, welcome 😌
Yes, I’m from Goiânia.
The kind of person who says “porrrrtão, porrrrteira, porrrrta” with a strong accent and no shame at all 😂
And well… my city? It’s more talked about than ever. Goiânia is trending. And not just in Brazil.
Before anything else… press play
If there’s a soundtrack for this story, it has to be “Saudade da Minha Terra.”
Because when it comes to Goiânia…
it’s not just about a place. It’s about feeling.

From local pride to global attention
Recently, Goiânia hosted one of the biggest motorcycle racing events in the world, MotoGP.
Yes, MotoGP.
That alone already put the city on the international map.
But that’s not all.
A series about one of the most delicate moments in the city’s history, the Cesium-137 accident , reached the top rankings in several countries, bringing global attention to Goiânia in a completely different way.

It’s considered the largest radioactive accident outside a nuclear power plant in the world.
A tragic event that deeply impacted the city and many families, and that is still remembered with respect and sensitivity.
Yes.
This is Brazil.
This is Goiânia.
So what does that mean in practice?
Visibility.
And visibility creates curiosity.
Curiosity creates searches.
Searches create opportunities.
With Goiânia in the spotlight, the entire state of Goiás starts gaining attention too.
That opens doors for:
- tourism growth
- new festivals and events
- business opportunities
- real economic movement
- and a stronger global positioning
And no, this isn’t random.

There’s strategy behind it.
Brazil’s tourism board (Embratur), together with Sebrae Goiás and the state government, is actively working to position Goiás internationally through initiatives like the Plano Brasis.
The goal?
- attract international tourists
- highlight the region’s potential
- and create long-term visibility
Goiânia: way beyond the hype
If there’s one thing Goiânia has always been…
it’s a reference. And of course, we need to talk about music.
Our eternal Marília Mendonça, a name recognized everywhere. 👑
The city has also revealed major artists like Alok, among many others.
Goiânia breathes music.
It’s part of the culture.
It’s part of the identity.
And it’s one of the strongest forces behind its growing appeal.
Even the famous VillaMix Festival once had one of the most technologically advanced stages in the world, officially recognized by Guinness World Records.

So yeah…
we’ve always been a big deal 😌 But now?
The world is paying attention. And when the world looks… opportunities follow. 💰
A city that deserves to be experienced
Maybe it’s time for you to take a closer look too. Whether to visit, invest, or simply understand a place that has always been quietly powerful.
Goiânia is culture. It’s energy. And now more than ever, it’s a trend.
My favorite spots in Goiânia
I never really stopped to list my favorite places here… until now.
Goiânia has over 1.5 million people and, like any big Brazilian city, it’s a mix of cultures. But if there’s one thing people from Goiânia know how to do well, it’s go out and enjoy life.
And the nightlife?
It speaks for itself.

Downtown Goiânia
Talking about my city always takes me back to downtown.
That energy.
That movement.
That mix of history and real life happening at the same time.
Places like Teatro Goiânia are cultural landmarks.
I’ve watched shows there.
I have family members who’ve performed on that stage.
So yeah, there’s memory, emotion, history. Every time I go back, I try to revisit places that make me feel present.
You know that moment when you stop and think: “Wow… this feels so good to relive.” 🥹
A few places I love

(I could list a hundred more… but let’s save that for part 2 😌)
If you go to Goiânia, start with the food
If it’s your first time, here’s my advice: Do a food tour.
And get ready to meet one of Brazil’s most controversial fruits:
pequi 😮💨
You either love it… or hate it. I? I absolutely love it 😌
And don’t even get me started on pamonha…
or our iconic Brazilian x-salada 😂

And yes… the stereotypes are real
The other day, here in Florianópolis, I told someone:
“I’m from Goiânia.” The response?
“Oh… do you have coffee with country singer Gusttavo Lima?” 😂
“Have you ever met Leonardo?” And honestly?
Yes.
I’ve seen Leonardo.
Bruno & Marrone.
Di Paullo & Paulino.
Gusttavo Lima.
And I was once married to a country singer 😂😂
EEEI GOIÂNIA 🫰

It’s time to say goodbye…
